For a long time I was using Wolf ammo with no problems. But I hear so many bad stories of Wolf that I am going to switch now. I've shot 1 and 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards with Wolf 7.62x39 ammuntion. Wolf is Cheap and very accurate (from my experience) but I want the best for my guns. I would rather spend the extra 10 dollars and have "healthy" ammo!

I have always liked Wolf Ammo, I will still use a little Wolf ammo. I think that you will find a "bad" one every once in a while with any brand of ammo; of course there will always be a couple bad sheep in the flock....The following statements were made about Wolf ammo...:

"I finally decided to try a case of the much touted Wolf "Premium" with the copper jackets.......on examination, the case necks are for lack of a better word, "crimped". The steel necks are not concentric. If you put thumb and forefinger on the neck and spin the cartridge, 2 or three places on the neck circumferance are crumpled to form sharp bumps or peaks. This appears to be a "Frankenstien fix" for case neck tension problems and is a case split waiting to happen. If you have this ammo, please check it before you fire it. I have shot many thousands of rounds of Russian hollowpoint and never have seen this deformity. I hope this is isolated to a small lot. I pulled a bullet [the neck tension seemed normal] The bullet was a normal .311" except where it was crimped and there it measured .301" which cannot be conducive to accuracy. After this I think the chance of a split case is a little more remote, but I still think the wolf has sh!t in my ammo box......"

"I bought one of those cheap Chinese made 4x scopes for my Bushy and went to sight it in along with my new SAR-1 today. I recently bought 500 rds of WOLF 223 HP and attempted to sight the scope in with that. I was having holy hell tryin to get any consistant group with it. I started to blame the scope and figured that the old saying 'you get what you pay for' really applied here. Just for shits and giggles I opened up a box of Winchester white box and I started shooting 1" to 1.5" groups. After sighting it in with the Winchester stuff I ran another box of the WOLF thru it just to verify my earlier finding. It was shooting a pattern...not a group. Have ya'll had similar ecperiences with WOLF 223 ? I was considering getting a K of WOLF 7.62x39 for my AK but if it is going to shoot as bad as the 223 I think I'll spend a little mor for S&B or something."
