Does anyone own one or maybe have a suggestion for me? I will probably get a .45 I have been looking at a the "Glock 21." Thanks in advance.

Posts: 10 (02/14/01 14:05:10) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I have owned many and currently have a few, the .45ACP in a G30 is a nice package for CCW if you have the option. I like the Glock for it's inherent simplicity, there are less parts to fail and they will feed just about any ammo you can shove down the pipe. The "Floating Barrel" design aides with the reliability in feeding ... over all a great firearm in it's respective class ... the compact lightweight hand cannon. I wouldn't personally go as far as to say that they are a competition gun, but there are many who utilize them in that manner as well. I mainly consider them to be close quarter combat weapons, an excellent point shooting tool. Good luck in whatever model you do choose, it is hard to go wrong with a Glock Safe Action Pistol in your collection. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Support your RKBA ... Just make sure it "fits" before you lay out that $500.00 - $600.00 for it. If it does not fit your hand and/or feel right, it could turn out to be a rather expensive paperweight or billy club. I know that they are compatible with most handgun upgrade kits. This purchase will be a "full custom toy." I want to deck it out. Does anyone have any pics of there customized Glocks? If you can't find what you want there, it isn't available. As a side note, I've got the LaserLyte dual beam (dot and crosshair) on my Colt Commander in 38Super. Heckuva combination. Also got one on my Llama Mini-Max 38Super. I tend to stay away from the lasers with the cord/pressure switch combination. Using the pressure switch detracts from ability to apply equal pressure to the grip assuring a steady hold (IMHO). LaserLyte has a push type switch at the rear of the unit for on/off and a similar switch at the front for dot/crosshair use. (NOTE: If you intend to get the LaserLyte, go to www.tapco.com to make your purchase. They normally have them there for $79.00, vs the $119.00 that applied laser wants for them.) Regards ruffitt

I've heard that from multiple sources. I also was told by a friend that all glocks firing a round larger than 9mm will eventually explode due to there synthetic frames. From the things I've heard I wouldn't trust a Glock personally but these rumors may be incorrect.

Glocks are put through a series of tests that ensure there reliability. I will look into this rumor and see what I can find... Posts: 3 (02/21/01 09:27:51) Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	I have a Glock 19 9mm and a Glock 22 .40 and like them both.All of the problems I have read about with the .40 blowing up has been with reloaded ammo.The reason as I understand it is because the chamber does not fully support the case,and it causes a bulge and when the case is resized there is a weak spot were the bulge was and if the weak spot ends up in the unsupported area again the case can blow out.I have shot alot of my 9mm reloads in my 19 and have not had any problems.I have not shot any reloads in the .40.The only mod. I have made to mine are 31/2 trigger connector's and I have a M3 tact. illuminator on the .40.

As far as aftermarket, most people just go to night sights and that's it. For race guns, there's match grade barrels, extended mag releases and slide stops. All kinds of fun stuff. Look around www.lonewolfdist.com or www.glockmeister.com. Those should give you an idea of what's out there for the Glock. Messiah: Lead bullets will make a Glock KB. It has to do with the way Glock barrels are rifled. They use polygonal rifling(as does HK) and it strips lead and fouls faster than regular rifling. The buildup causes chamber pressures to be high and you get a KABOOOM. Glock19: The unsupported chamber really has nothing to do with KB's in the .40. The only way that happens is lead bullets and or very high pressure reloads. OK, that's about it for now, sorry about the long post. Hope I covered everything. If you have any questions, please ask. I plan on using it as a carry piece, so I wanted something smaller than average but not too small. The G21 looks like a great gun for ME... Thanks. I will let you know if I make the purchase.

Despite what a lot of people may say, if you give it a little thought they aren't that hard to conceal. With a good IWB holster it'll disappear under an unbuttoned shirt. If you like Kydex, Sidearmor makes a great IWB. If you like leather, well there's so many choices it's not funny. If you would like a nice little list of web addresses for holster's let me know, and I'll post one. At any rate, I'm getting long winded, any questions let me know, I'll try to answer.
